Crystals For Support While Sick

During springtime in the north east, we start to notice the little things that show the season is shifting. Small leaves on the trees, flowers bursting from the earth, the singing of spring birds. But we are also now aware of the downside to a seasonal shift, sickness and allergies. If you’re not experiencing a stuffy nose due to tree and grass pollen, perhaps you’re dancing with a stomach bug that is making the rounds throughout the workforce. Sickness is no fun, but crystals can be of assistance along with medicines and rest.
PLEASE NOTE: Crystal healing is a supportive energetic form of healing. If you are sick please consult your doctor about what they advise for your most effective recovery. This is not medical advice only personal experience.

My household just got over a stomach flu. It had been a few years since I experienced one and I have to admit my body was spoiled with good health. I found myself reaching for specific stones after the bulk of my flu for recovery support. Those stones included:
Amber: Amber is actually not a crystal but a fossilized resin. Resin has a whole history of being used both in herbology and metaphysical work. In this case Amber really assists with promoting anti-inflammatory properties, it also has a very subtle pain reliving association (There are teething necklaces made of amber because it’s believed to help teething pain. I have used this theory for my wisdom teeth that came in and I did feel some relief, no oragel needed.). The reason for reaching for this stone was bringing in that anti-inflammatory property to my solar plexus organs. I placed this stone in my pocket to keep it at the mid-range area of my body.
Quartz with Chlorite: Quartz amplifies whatever it is placed around, and in this case we are amplifying the inclusion of chlorite. Quartz with Chlorite is believed to work as a vacuum for disease and sickness, it’s considered a master healer. It absorbs the lower frequencies of fatigue and discomfort and removes it from the energetic field. Because of this property it actually is best to work with this for short periods and clear the stone in-between intervals. You don’t want the quartz to absorb and then amplify the energy back into you. So sit with this stone for half an hour and then clear and work with it again. I wore this at my heart space for the intervals and asked that it collect and draw the energy out of my heart space.
Bloodstone: It was believed bloodstone actually was formed when the blood of Christ hit the earth at the base of the cross thus explaining the look of blood. But bloodstone is actually green jasper with flecks of red jasper that looks as if it was blood splatter and is not actually blood. In any case Bloodstone is one of the top 3 stones for pain management. If you have ever had the flu you are aware of the cramps, and body aches associated with it. Bloodstone was my ally at keeping this pain to a level which I could manage without pain killers. Bloodstone is one of the easier stones to work with and really only needs to be placed where you have pain. So I kept a palm stone with me and moved it to where the pain was the most intense at that specific time.
Yellow Jasper: Yellow jasper is a very common solar plexus chakra healing stone, it is recommended to use with basic digestive issues. The Flu normally comes with vomiting which can be damaging to your solar plexus chakra. To help heal any stagnant energy in the stomach region I reach for this stone and it pairs very well with Amber. I kept this in the opposite pocket as my amber so they could harmonize with healing energies to the most disrupted part of my body while working on recovering.
Red Aventurine: Red aventurine is a mix of quartz material and Goethite or Hematite inclusions which give it its red color. Red aventurine is a crystal which promotes healthy cellular growth. My intensions with working with this stone is the promoting of healthy cells while recovering and repair to any areas still being affected by the flu virus. I placed this under my bed while sleeping to do its energetic work while my body is at the deepest form of rest. Our bodies naturally repair themselves and working with crystals while sleeping can help that process along.
Note: Sometimes quartz crystals can be too much for sensitive sleepers. If you have a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep I would not advise having any quartz near your sleeping space. Quartz has an amplifying property which can keep you awake.
BONUS STONE:
Fluorite: Fluorite is a quartz component that crystallizes in isometric cubic formation even though it is an apart of the quartz family which normally grows in a trigonal system. Fluorite is normally used for clarity and life path awareness. This connects it to your third eye chakra, which in turn connects to all things in regard to your forehead including your sinuses. If you are stuffy due to allergies or a cold, sitting with Fluorite on your forehead really gets fluids moving.
Even better if you can find a small wand to use to do little massages on your sinus cavities.
Note: If you work with a certified aroma-therapist for a sinus clearing blend and pair that with a fluorite wand, the two together make an extremely effective pair!

Sickness sucks, while in the depth of it we may not think of our energetic allies for assistance. But once you’re recovering and working on feeling a little better it’s a great time to open yourself to a little energetic boost. These are the stones I tend to reach for the most when recovering from an illness, and they are the ones that seem to support me the best. Feel free to work with what stones you have to see how they can benefit you, and write in what crystals you like best for this type of work.
I love learning from others how crystal healing has supported them as well.
Stay safe and healthy!
